On Wednesday night, 2 Chainz was geared up for a listening party for his new Pretty Girls Like Trap Music album—featuring record executives, music writers and friends in the hip-hop community. According to The New York Post’s Page Six, police shut the event down before it began. The story attributes the activity to the NYPD’s “Hip-Hop Cop” task force, charged with monitoring activity in the rap world.

Doors opened at 7:30 and the event was over within 15 minutes. The Post reports that 2 Chainz spent 45 minutes “desperately pleading” with cops to allow the event to continue. Law enforcement sources said the event didn’t obtain a proper permit.

A source told Page Six: “The police seemed to get joy out of shutting down this event for one of the hottest hip-hop artists. There were 200 industry people invited to the party, but they shut the doors once 74 were inside. Police threatened those in line with a summons if they did not vacate the area. 2 Chainz arrived with an entourage of 20, and they wouldn’t let them in. He waited outside for 45 minutes and tried to reason with the cops and the DOB to let his guests inside. He wasn’t screaming and yelling — he was disappointed.”

On Twitter, the rapper apologized for the snafu:

“Fire marshall shut down my listening!!! sorry to all my fans & supporters who got turned away. I will make up for it.”

Later, he wrote: “Pretty girls like trap music, but fire marshals don’t.”

He later posted that party would be rescheduled for this Saturday, June 10.

Amber Rose & 2 Chainz Debate the Merits of Pubic Hair

2 Chainz is one of the most successful rappers out today and has been at the top of the rap game for nearly a decade now. He recently stopped by close friend Amber Rose’s show Loveline to discuss some of his opinions on sex and sexuality. Amber instantly asked him how comfortable he was being open about his sex life.

“I’m not going to be that open,” he responded, surprising both Amber and co-host Dr. Chris Donaghue. “Sex is, to most people, a private ceremony where you practice love-making, you practice soul-swapping, and things like that,” he elaborated.

2 Chainz has been making headlines for his latest album Pretty Girls Like Trap Music and Amber made headlines a week before for a photo showing her untrimmed private parts. She was purposely trying to promote her body the way she wanted it rather than ways society expected her to.

“You’re welcome!” Amber was very happy about the results and the reactions she was getting from the picture. “There’s a whole website of scientists and gynecologists that are like when you shave and wax your pubic hair, you’re more susceptible to STDs, to infections, to bacteria. [The bush] is like a goalie for the vagina. I grew my goalie into a grown woman and she protected my vagina and I appreciate her.”

Amber feels that there are two things that both plague women: razor bumps and bushes. She wanted to let people know her preference as it pertained to the issue and that she enjoys having her bush.

“I’m not good with bumps. I’m not functioning well with bumps because I’m not sure if that’s what the bumps are. If it has to be hair, then I’ll be cool,” 2 Chainz chimed in. “I think shaving has become the new trend. Women just do that in general, they groom themselves. I bet that’s one of the most booming businesses in the last five to ten years.”

2 Chainz recently sat down for an interview, where the rapper spoke about everything from his latest album, Pretty Girls Like Trap Music, album hitting No. 1 on the Billboard chart in its first week to how Eminem called him up to collaborate on his upcoming album.

The Atlanta rapper said getting a call from the Detroit legend confirmed that he was doing something right. He said, “That’s how I know I can rap. He didn’t want to talk about nothing but rapping. That was a great phone call to get.”

At first, he said he didn’t believe Eminem wanted to work with him, but said things began real when he got word the rapper was at Rick Rubin’s house and wanted Chainz to stop by.

Eminem offered Chainz the hook and a chance to do a remix, but the “Good Drank” rapper disagreed, saying, “I tell him straight up… Eminem, what would you need a remix for? Remixes are used to carry records to No. 1 spots. When have you ever did a remix for someone or for yourself? That’s cap at it’s finest.”

From there, the two went to work, incorporating Chainz on the main verse.

If and when the track will see the light of day, and Eminem will drop his new album, remains to be seen.

Gucci Mane tied the knot with fiancée Keyshia last night before a crowd of guests and everyone was dressed in white. The A-list attendees included Lil Yachty, Big Sean, 2 Chainz, Trina, Karreuche Tran and other hip-hop luminaries from the Atlanta scene and beyond. Guests shared their photos on social media and the ladies’ outfits could have easily been mistaken for wedding gowns.

Keyshia described the dress code concept in an interview with Page Six earlier this year.

“All the women have to wear a gown, as if you are getting married,” she said. “And the men have to wear white suits. Even my camera crew has to wear white. If you don’t come dressed accordingly you have to leave, and I am so serious. If you come wearing something else then you were not invited.”

Gucci and Keyshia also settled on a great wedding hashtag: #TheWopsters. See photos from the event here:

2 Chainz has been in the ugly Christmas sweater business for a some time; he’s sold “Dabbing Santa” pullovers for a good cause since 2015.

This week, it came to the rapper’s attention that Walmart has stocked their shelves with a “Dabbing Santa” sweater that features a nearly identical graphic to the one on the rapper’s merch. Let’s just say that discovery didn’t fill 2 Chainz with the spirit of the season.

“Oooh nooo someone please tell Walmart that they didn’t get permission to use this patent or likeness in anyway,” he wrote on Instagram. “We use this sweater this time of year to spread togetherness and also give back to those who are less fortunate or not able to provide for their families at the time.”

Proceeds from 2 Chainz’s “Dabbing Santa” sales benefit the rapper’s T.R.U. Foundation — which provides help to families in need through the holiday season. In a hashtag, 2 Chainz urged Walmart to support his community.

The rapper says he wanted to make a high-energy hip-hop track that was still contemporary and expressed his excitement to work with Offset in a recent interview.

“This song presented the opportunity,” he told XXL. “Of course I’m a big fan of Migos and we crossed paths on the road a bunch of times. Offset’s verse on ‘Bad and Boujee’ was crazy, so I really wanted to get him on something and it worked out for this song.”

The lyric video features cartoonish ‘Miami Vice’ clips, with each rapper’s head superimposed over a character. In one scene, Jon plays a perp that Don Johnson and Philip Michael Thomas are apprehending; In another, he’s pictured busting a move on an ’80s dance floor.
