It’s only one more day until Lil Wayne and 2 Chainz release their ColleGrove project, and the rappers shared another track from the project today that gives a strong indication of what’s to come.

Lil Wayne and 2 Chainz premiered the track “Gotta Love” on Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 radio show.

From start to finish, the song has a slick feel. It begins with a soft beat and the sounds of a lighter being flicked three times, before a synth reminiscent of a classic 1980s horror movie quickly takes over. Both 2 Chainz and Lil Wayne are heavily auto-tuned throughout the track, even on their verses.

The pair previously premiered “Rolls Royce Weather Everyday” from the project on The Tonight Show back in mid-February.

ColleGrove will drop tomorrow, March 4th.

Atlanta rapper 2 Chainz made an appearance on The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore to explain why Ben Carson is ending his bid for the Presidency reasoning in a segment called 2 Chainz Explainz.

2 Chainz broke down why the candidate suspended his presidential run with a straight, no chaser attitude. The rhymer said, “Suspending your campaign is all bout the money, Larry. If you suspend instead of quit, you can still raise money from suckas that don’t know you dropped out of the game. Then the federal government will give you matching dollars for those same funds. You can stack your money, stack your money and stack your money until you need a ladder and then your campaign is out of debt.”

2 Chainz Describes Friendly Rivalry with Lil Wayne

Atlanta rapper 2 Chainz has had many of scene-stealing performances on some of your favorite rapper’s songs. Although stealing the show is normal for 2 Chainz, he said he really had to put in work with Lil Wayne when they recorded their collaborative album Collegrove. 2 Chainz even told Rolling Stone they developed a friendly competition during recording to see who could outrap the other.

In the interview, the dreadlocked rhymer explains how he and Weezy got into the spirit of competition while making the song “Bounce.” “Neither one of us writes. So our process of recording music is very similar, yet very different. He has a skate ramp in the booth so he goes skating — I don’t know he’s skatin’ or f—– thinking of the verse…. I go in there and do the [chorus],” Chainz explained. “I come out the booth and this motherf—– goes back in and raps again! My chef, is just like, ‘Ohhhhhh, whatcha going to do now?’ So I had to go back in. This process was probably one of the best rap processes that I’ve ever been a part of. Straight up.”

2 Chainz is currently working on new solo material that he plans to drop sometime this year. He says it will be his most personal album ever.

Chance the Rapper to Offer Voter Registration Forms on U.S. Tour

Chance The Rapper has teamed up with the NAACP to encourage fans to vote in the upcoming election. Fans will have the opportunity to fill out voter registration forms on Chance’s tour, which kicks off in his hometown of Chicago on September 24.

The rapper made the announcement on Twitter and tagged it with #staywokeandvote, which is the NAACP’s official hashtag to try to encourage African-Americans to vote.

NAACP president Cornell William Brooks said, “Chance the Rapper is an artist whose music praises and lifts up our common humanity, and whose call for action speaks to the yearning of this moment. This year, more than it has in a generation, we must use the power of our voices and our votes and exercise our sacred right to vote.”

Statistics show that only 10 percent of voters in the U.S. primary elections were African-Americans under the age of 45, which is down from 2008. In that same period, the number of African-American voters over 45 increased from 12 percent to 16 percent.

Chance resorted to a different type of politics — railing against record labels — when he brought his music to The Ellen DeGeneres Show. The rapper was joined by Lil Wayne, who is currently having record label issues, and 2 Chainz for a performance of “No Problem” from his Coloring Book mixtape. During their performance, the trio and back-up dancers destroyed a mock record label office.

Following the performance, Chance sat down to chat with the dancing talk show host. The two talked about his decision not to sign with a record label and the time they met at the White House. Then Ellen made some merch suggestions.

Lil Wayne Disses Ryan Lochte in Improvised ‘No Problems’ Lyric

It sounds like Lil Wayne has a new target in his crosshairs. In addition to going after Cash Money Records, which he’s been doing with increasing regularity of late, Weezy took aim at Ryan Lochte when he performed with Chance the Rapper and 2 Chainz on Ellen today (September 15).

Related: Chance the Rapper to Offer Voter Registration Forms on U.S. Tour

The three rapped their track “No Problems” off Chance’s mixtape Coloring Book. When Lil Wayne joined Chance on set toward the end, he changed one key lyric and called attention to Lochte’s 2016 Rio Olympic scandal. Instead of the original line he delivers, “And if that label try to stop me/ There gon’ be some crazy Weezy fans waitin’ in the lobby,” he changed it to “And if Cash Money try to stop me, Imma let ’em rob me/ Yeah right, like Ryan Lochte.” Chance’s reaction says everything. He loves the freestyle.

After performing at the Olympics, Lochte claimed he and his swimming teammates were robbed one evening, allegations that later turned out to be false.

It’s the latest dig Lil Wayne has taken at Cash Money and Birdman. On Monday (September 12), he appeared on Undisputed and said he would never work with the producer/rapper again.

Is Justin Bieber Working on New Music with 2 Chainz?

By Jon Wiederhorn

In 2016, Justin Bieber branched out beyond a traditional pop performer by collaborating with such unconventional acts as Major Lazer, DJ Snake and Post Malone. And while it doesn’t look like he’ll be working with Aphex Twin any time soon, Bieber seems likely to continue to branch out as an artist and one of the first projects might just be with 2 Chainz.

The Atlanta rapper took to Instagram yesterday to post a photo of himself standing next Bieber and he captioned it, “New music on the way ??? Take JB to the trap ???”

There’s no further evidence of the artists working together, but 2 Chainz’s 3 million followers seemed to like the idea. And it makes sense; the rapper is certainly hot right now. In October, he released the seven-track mixtape Hibachi For Lunchjust one of four projects he tackled during the year, including CollecGrove with Lil Wayne, and the mixtapes Felt Like Cappin’ and Daniel Son; Necklace Don. In addition, 2 Chainz appears on Cashmere Cat’s “Throw Myself a Party,” which came out December 29.

Bieber was on the road for much of last year.

Migos and 2 Chainz Make it Rain on Past Presidents in ‘Deadz’ Video

Migos blend past and present in their new video for “Deadz” featuring 2 Chainz. They bury the past under stacks of cash and proclaim their rightful place in the present throughout the artistically constructed video.

Related: Man Arrested for Firing Gun During Fight Between Migos and Sean Kingston

Although shot in the present, the video harkens back to the Civil War and the lingering history surrounding Atlanta. An orchestra plays outside in a town square while the smoky remnants of an explosion blow past. It feels as if a canon has just been fired rather than some more modern weapon.

Elsewhere in the video, the trio brings a literal meaning to “dead presidents” when they rap in a room displaying the bodies of Abraham Lincoln and Thomas Jefferson (among others) laying in coffins. Armed with stacks of cash, Migos make it rain over their bodies in a societal role reversal that took more than a century to accomplish.

“Deadz” appears on Migos’ most recent album C U L T U R E. Watch the explicit video on Radio.com.
