The fifth annual Sweetlife Festival in Maryland is celebrating good food and good music with a lineup that boasts artists from indie rock, pop and one hip-hop foodie.

Headlining this year’s one-day fest—taking place on May 10 at the Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, MD—will be Foster the People, who are gearing up to release their new album Supermodel on March 14, along with Lana Del Rey, who teased that her upcoming album, Ultraviolence, will be out May 1. Sweetlife gets the honor of being the only East Coast festival Lana is playing this summer.

Other bands on the bill include self-proclaimed foodie 2 Chainz, Fitz and The Tantrums, Capital Cities, Chromeo, St. Lucia, Bastille, Hozier, Bombay Bicycle Club, ASTR, Spirit Animal, Nicky Blitz and our recent New Music to Know pick, GEMS.

2 Chainz has expensive taste. Glimpse at his lyrics and you’ll find a roll call of the finest consumer goods around, from cars to jewels to clothes.

Now, you can add burgers to that list.

In a new video for GQ 2 Chainz eats the most expensive burger in the world, the $295 le Burger Extravagant from Serendipity 3 in New York.

Why is the burger so expensive? Well, it’s made from quail eggs, caviar, and Wagyu beef, to start. And then there’s the gold dust on the bun, which 2 Chainz is shocked to find out is edible. He’s also impressed to find out that the cheese is aged in a cave, and shares an intimate detail of his own life: “I’ve always wanted to go to a cave.”

For Outkast’s upcoming reunion shows at Centennial Olympic Park in Atlanta—the final shows on their itinerary—the guys are pulling out all the stops. All three shows, taking placing from Sept. 26 to 28 and co-sponsored by V-103 (a CBS Radio station), will feature special guests who already exist in Big Boi and Andre 3000’s orbit.

Friday night’s opener will feature 2 Chainz, Janelle Monaé and Solange, with Bun B also announced to share the stage with the rap duo. On Saturday, fans will get a chance to see sets from Kid Cudi, Childish Gambino and the teen rapper from Atlanta, Raury.

The weekend closes with B.o.B. and is being billed as the “one of the biggest celebrations of southernplayalisticadillacmuzik ever” with appearances from rappers like Killer Mike, 8Ball & MJG, Bun B (again), K Camp, Devin the Dude, Kilo, Gipp Goodie and DJ Unk.

According to Billboard, the sold out three-night run won’t just feature special guests, but an “In Real Life” art installation from Tumblr that will feature fan-submitted art.

When a song is called “Burnin’ Up,” the obvious route would be to use pyrotechnics in its music video counterpart.

Jessie J and 2 Chainz, however, went in a less overt direction, interpreting the song’s lyrics — which begins with “Walking through the fire” — in a sultrier way.

There’s choreographed dancing, dreamlike shots of Jessie J, and sexualized adonis male dancers à la J Lo’s “I Luh Ya Papi.” Amid all of those things, Jessie cools off in a pool while wearing what has got to be one of the most decadent swimsuits ever made.

Spoiler: it’s made of gold.

2 Chainz Arrested Following 8-Hour Tour Bus Standoff

In the early hours of this morning (Aug. 22), a tour bus was pulled over on I-40 and Meridian in Oklahoma City, Okla. for a broken taillight. 2 Chainz and 10 associates were on board and refused to open the doors to the authorities, who suspected drug usage on the bus. After a standoff lasting approximately eight hours, 2 Chainz and co. were arrested for Obstruction of a Public Officer.

“We stopped the bus about midnight and it was near I-40 and Meridian,” Oklahoma City Police Department Sergeant Jennifer Wardlow told Radio.com while the investigation was still underway. “The reason for traffic stop was it looks like there was a broken taillight. When officers went up to bus and made contact with the driver, there was evidence of drug usage going on the bus. We’re not getting into specifics of what it was, but it was apparent to the officers that there was drug use going on the bus. The driver was taken into custody without any problem. When he got out and shut the door, it locked so the officers couldn’t get into the tour bus.

The hardest thing to do is say I’m sorry, but Lil Wayne is doing just that with a free mixtape.

Last night (Jan. 20), Wayne dropped Sorry 4 The Wait 2 featuring Drake, Nicki Minaj, 2 Chainz, Mack Maine and Christina Milian as an apology for the hold-up of Tha Carter V.

The sequel to his 2011 Sorry 4 the Wait mixtape also has remixes of Beyoncé’s “Drunk in Love,” Dej Loaf’s “Try Me,” iLoveMakonnen‘s “Maneuvering”, Future‘s “Sh!t”, and Rae Stremmurd‘s “No Type.”

What may be more telling is the photo featured on the cover of mixtape, which has Wayne wearing handcuffs, but only cuffed on one wrist.

The mixtape comes as Wayne continues to be at odds with his record label, Young Money, who have delayed Tha Carter V, even asking to be released from the roster.

For those not from Georgia, College Park is a city in the greater Atlanta metropolis, though it has its own mayor and city council and such. This may become more important than you might think, as an unexpected candidate is possibly emerging to run for Mayor of College Park: 2 Chainz.

Yes, that 2 Chainz. Though he doesn’t really have much political work on his resume, the popular rapper is well-versed at being in the public spotlight and inspiring people to action, so maybe that is enough.

“I am looking forward to running at the end of this year or next year. [I’m] waiting to see if I meet all of the qualifications!” 2 Chainz told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. He reiterated the interest to XXLMag.com: “I’m supposed to be running for mayor in College Park. I got everybody wishing.”

Whether or not this actually happens remains to be seen, but the interest is at least there, and with a modest population of 13,942, it might be a good proving ground for an inexperienced political leader. We all had to start somewhere.

Nancy Grace and 2 Chainz have a longstanding, playful rivalry over their opposing stances on marijuana legalization—today it sparked up again, so to speak.

Yesterday we covered a recent episode of 2 Chainz’ GQ web series—in which Chainz samples luxury goods of all stripes. He smoked $800-an-ounce weed out of 24-carat gold rolling papers.

Now Nancy Grace has responded, after Rolling Stone reached out for her take on the episode.

Grace’s response exemplifies her usual combination of moralizing and wisecracking: “$800 for an ounce of Loud? Really? That alone should be a felony—the 24-carat gold paper is definitely an aggravating circumstance! The caviar of joints? For someone as smart and educated as 2 Chainz, this video is even more ironic. 2 Chainz won’t allow his children to have caffeine: not even a soda. (P.S., I don’t either.) Wait until his children spot this video on the Internet. Explain that, Daddy!”

The singer’s latest video for “Double Tap” featuring 2 Chainz—her first since saying buh-bye to Jason Derulo—has her strutting her stuff in some slinky activewear.

2 Chainz seems to appreciate this newly single version of Sparks too, as he makes clear in the line, “It’s a turn on if a girl say she independent/ It’s a turn on if a girl say she ain’t offended.”

Though the track is about those Instagram lurkers who can’t help but tap twice to show how much they like your photo. And we’re talking about every photo, seconds after you upload it. That being said, we can’t help but want to double tap this clip.

2 Chainz has consumed a lot of expensive things in his lifetime—or, just the past six months for his GQ series—but nothing scans as excess like his latest stunt.

In part, that’s because this kind of opulence isn’t even known to most people: a $100,000 bottle of water.

For his latest installment in his recurring series, 2 Chainz recruited Diplo to go out on a high-end tasting with a “water sommelier”—the only water sommelier in America, if you were wondering why you hadn’t heard of that position. The sommelier crafted the $100,000 bottle of Beverly Hills 9OH2O water, which comes in a briefcase and has a bottle cap decked out with 14 carats of diamonds and white gold.

Among its other perks, it comes with four Baccarat glasses, is refillable, and will be flown out to you regardless of your location.

The ugly Christmas sweater trend continues with 2 Chainz adding his touch. The rapper launched a special holiday shop, which features a few different festive sweater designs.

The sweaters retail between $30.00 and $34.99 and come in several different colors.

If rap-inspired Christmas sweaters are your thing, you can also check out Drake’s “Hotline Bling” sweater, which brings to life one of the Canadian rapper’s famous moves from the video. Unlike 2 Chainz, Drake had nothing to do with designing or producing the sweaters besides providing bad-dance-move inspiration.

In addition to announcing his sweater line, 2 Chainz also released the music video for “BFF,” which also features Jeezy. The two make their way through a stacked mansion surrounded by beautiful women, naturally.

Rapper 2 Chainz is a well known and very successful hip-hop artist, but as a child his family struggled to make ends meet. Today, he doesn’t take his success for granted. And in a beautiful act of “paying it forward,” he rapper surprised military veteran Deirdre Plater by paying her rent for an entire year and refurnishing her home.

He was able to do this thanks to the sales of his “Dabbing Santa” ugly sweater. A portion of the proceeds of the sweater’s sales go to his T.R.U. Foundation, which helps needy families who receive financial support from the state of Georgia.

The special moment 2 Chainz told Plater what he had done for her was caught on camera. Take a look at the emotional video above.

I remember when we didn't have hot water and I didn't want my friends to know , so I told them it was something wrong with that bathroom and they couldn't use my mommas, i remember using the oven to heat the house , I would stand in the kitchen for hours to stay warm . I remember waiting until the water co. Close at 5 ,so we could use a tool and turn the water back on until 6 am , I remember going to sleep hungry , i remember a long ass extension chord coming from the neighbors house to mine to borrow they're lights ,I remember stealing cable , cars , clothes etc, no matter how much pain I endured I smiled on the outside , it was my defense mechanism. New Orleans rapper C-Murder is not a fan of Atlanta rapper 2 Chainz.

C-Murder made it abundantly clear on his new song dissing Chainz called “2 Stainz.” On the song, Master P’s brother claims he’s the creator of the “TRU” movement.

C-Murder, who is Master P’s brother, has used “TRU” in titles of his albums including 2002’s Tru Dawgs and 2006’s The Tru Story…Continued. He spits, “I made this TRU s—, 2 Chainz / F— you, n—- / P—–a– n—–.” C-Murder, who doing a life sentence behind bars for the 2002 murder of Steve Thomas, mentions his life in prison. He asserts 2 Chainz wouldn’t be able to handle prison life. “You’d be a hoe you was in the pen, n—-,” Murder says on the diss record.

2 Chainz caught wind of the diss track and responded in his signature nonchalant fashion. 2 Chainz posted a video to Instagram saying, “”Man, my partner just notified me that C-Murder made a diss song about me. That’s hard as f—. C-Murder always been hard as f—. True.” The dreadlocked rhymer later posted another video of himself singing The Stylistics classic “You Are Everything.”

At a time when people are more concerned about who is beefing with whom, 2 Chainz is in the news for giving back.

Through his TRU Foundation, the rapper has donated a 5 bedroom house to a family of 11. After finding out about the family’s struggles and hardship through a GoFundMe campaign created by Atlanta’s Progression Church, 2 Chainz decided to help.

Despite the recent controversy between C-Murder and 2 Chainz regarding the origin of “TRU”, there’s doubt about the positive impact The TRU Foundation has had on this family.

2 Chainz is on his grind. A few days after dropping the hilarious video for the street single “Watch Out,’ the Atlanta star has released a new mixtape called Felt Like Cappin.

The project came as a surprise and was announced on Twitter while everyone was tuned into the Twitter war between Kanye West and Wiz Khalifa today (Jan. 27).

Felt Like Cappin is a six-song collection that comes after August’s Trapavelli Tre mixtape. Lil Wayne lends a verse to the project. There is production from hip-hop heavyweights like Timbaland, TM88, Mike Will Made It, Cardo, and Zaytoven.

The Lil Wayne collaboration serves as a preview for what 2 Chainz and Weezy’s joint mixtape Collegrove should sound like. 2 Chainz says you won’t have to wait too long for that to drop because it should be available in a month or two. Kanye West may be back at work in the studio on his next project, tentatively titled Turbo Grafx 16, but it looks like fans are in for a special treat come Friday, March 4.

Kanye announced a new project with 2 Chainz and Lil Wayne which is stet to drop on Friday March 4th. The announcement featured a head shot of 2 Chainz, sporting Wayne’s tattoos.

“New project with 2 Chainz and Wayne dropping this Friday,” Kanye wrote in the tweet.

It’s unclear from the tweet whether this is a true group effort, or if Kanye is simply promoting the previously announced 2 Chainz Lil Wayne project Collegrove.

2 Chainz did confirm, via Twitter, that the album is slated to drop this Friday.
